MH370 Passenger Manifest from API Data at Beijing
This version of a Passenger Manifest for Flight MH370 was apparently released at Beijing Capital International Airport (ZBAA).
The images below were sourced from SAYS - a Malaysian social news company. Each page is an image from the article The Captain, The Crew And The Passengers Of MH370 published by SAYS on 9 March 2014.
The passenger list heading contains three items in English: MH370, which is obviously the flight number; API, an abbreviation for Advance Passenger Information which identifies the source of the information; and 227, which is the number of passengers on-board. The heading on the last page has the number 12 which refers to the twelve crew members.
The API data included passport numbers (column 2) and date of birth (Year/Month/Day) instead of age in years (on the right).
The Beijing version of a passenger manifest has seven columns:-
- Column 1 is simply a line number. In total there are 227 lines, equal to the number of passengers onboard.
- Column 2 is a Passport Number. This data would not normally be made public, but was intended for immigration officials.
- Column 3 - the heading will explain the purpose to those who can read the script.
- Column 4 is the passenger name. For those in English the format is the Surname or Family name followed by a first name.
- Column 5 is the person's gender, male or female.
- Column 6 is a country code.
- Column 7 is a date of birth in the format Year/Month/Day or YYYYMMDD.
Note that Line 84 has been obscured, and Line 113 is not visible.
