Notes:-

Abula was from the Uighur ethnic group which is predominantly Islamic. His name could also be written as Mehmet, Abula and the Islamic name Mehmet has been transliterated to Maimait, or Maimaiti, then conjoined with a Chinese name Jiang. The South China Morning Post shortened that to Memetjan. Did Malaysia Airlines add an extra i and join MAIMAIT and JIANG to create the recorded name MAIMAITIJIANG/A or was that derived from his Passport?

Travelling as an Art Teacher to Malaysia for the exhibition with the group of Chinese calligraphers was an honour.
